Orientiles by Ramzi — Heritage on a Tile

Images, ideas, words, proverbs and verses carefully collected and transformed into handcrafted travertine artworks.

During the past thirty years, travel and a deep encounter with many cultures inspired a simple mission: to reflect identity and heritage through a timeless souvenir. Orientiles grew from that passion — combining the mesmerizing flow of Arabic calligraphy with the natural elegance of travertine rock to create artworks that speak of culture, heritage and understated luxury.

Each design begins with careful curation: images, proverbs and verses are collected and sorted into matching categories. Finding the right travertine is essential — it can take days or weeks to locate the perfect stone in a quarry. Colors and themes are then selected to suit the calligraphy and composition. Designs are printed using the RFS (Replication Frescoing System) onto specially selected travertine, a process that may take one or two days depending on scale. The finishing — varnishing, drying and crafting — can take up to a week before the work is framed.

Every piece is packaged in a handmade leather box and designed to be displayed indoors or outdoors — rain-, sunlight-, waterproof- and acid-resistant when finished. Our range includes small, handy designs for side tables and larger statement pieces that capture the eye at first glance. Beyond tiles, we also produce distinguished collectible items: colored printings of the Holy Qur’an, large leather-printed Qur’ans, and specially designed handmade Egyptian pendant lights in brass.
